24th CPSOC Czech–Polish–Slovak Optical Conference
24th CPSOC Hotel Horizont in Pec pod Sněžkou will provide all the necessary facilities during our stay. The hotel's conference hall, where the presentations will take place, can accommodate all participants at once or be divided into two sections to host parallel sessions.
Full board will be provided throughout the conference, including coffee breaks. In the evening, participants may visit one of the hotel's bars to continue discussions with colleagues.
We recommend Sky Bar 18, located on the 18th floor of the hotel, which offers a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.
On Wednesday, September 16 , a group excursion to the summit of Sněžka (1,602 m), the highest natural peak of the Czech Republic, will take place. Participants may reach the summit on foot or by cable car. The cable car has an intermediate station, allowing for a combined option — partly by cable car and partly on foot.
We recommend using the cable car for the descent, as the scientific program will continue in the afternoon. A snack package with food and water will be provided; however, we encourage all participants to bring appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear, including a waterproof & windproof jacket and sturdy shoes.
The hotel is surrounded by popular attractions such as a monkey park, a bobsled track, and a treetop walkway. Numerous short hiking trails lead to nearby waterfalls and scenic viewpoints. The highest peak of the Krkonoše Mountains and the Czech Republic, Sněžka, is located just above the hotel, and a group hike is planned, with access on foot, by cable car, or a combination of both.
